First Ave Chat Community Guidelines

To keep First Ave Chat (FAC) welcoming and useful for everyone, please follow these simple rules:

1. Membership is generally restricted

  • Any current resident may become a member

  • Admin or moderators may invite or allow guests in some situations

2. Be respectful

  • Treat neighbors with kindness. Disagreements happen, but keep it civil.

  • No personal attacks, hate speech, or harassment of any kind.

3. Stay on topic

  • Posts should relate to our building, neighborhood, or community life.

  • Social chatter is welcome — just keep it friendly and inclusive.

4. Protect privacy

  • Don’t share anyone’s personal details (emails, phone numbers, unit numbers) without their consent.

  • Remember: this is a shared space, not a private chat.

5. No spam or promotions

  • No advertising businesses, services, or unrelated events.

  • Sharing community resources or recommendations is okay — just keep it relevant.

6. Keep it clean

  • Avoid offensive language, graphic content, or anything that might make neighbors uncomfortable.

7. Use common sense

  • If you wouldn’t say it face-to-face in the lobby, don’t post it here.

  • Respect moderators’ decisions — they’re here to keep things running smoothly.

 
The admins and moderators reserve the right to both remove any content and/or ban users who don’t follow the rules. There will be no discussion or warnings.
